Terms of Use
Last updated August 2, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SpeakFile (the “Service”), including the website, dashboard, and mobile apps. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who can use SpeakFile
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use SpeakFile. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You may sign in with email and password or with a third-party provider such as Google or Sign in with Apple. You can delete your account at any time from the app or dashboard. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
3. Using the Service
SpeakFile turns text you provide into synthetic voice audio. You may use the audio you generate for personal and commercial projects, subject to these Terms and your plan limits.
You agree not to use the Service to:
- create content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or infringes others’ rights;
- record, generate, upload, or distribute sexual, pornographic, obscene, or otherwise indecent or immoral content, including erotic narration, sexual role-play, and any sexual content involving or depicting minors;
- produce content that is violent, gory, or that glorifies self-harm, abuse, or cruelty;
- impersonate a real person or clone a voice without that person’s consent;
- generate spam, deceptive “deepfake” audio, or content that misleads about its source;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or circumvent limits, security, or quotas of the Service.
You are solely responsible for the text you submit and the audio you generate. These restrictions apply regardless of whether the content is legal where you live: content that is permitted by your local law may still breach these Terms, and we enforce them everywhere the Service is available.
We may review reported content and enforce this section without notice. Breaches — sexual or indecent content in particular — can result in your account being blocked and your email address barred from creating a new one, as described in section 9. Where content is unlawful, we may also report it to the competent authorities.
4. Plans, quotas, and subscriptions
Free accounts include a limited number of words and characters per period. SpeakFile Pro unlocks higher limits and premium voices. Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription (monthly or yearly) purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and billed by those stores.
For purchases made through the Apple App Store: payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your App Store account settings after purchase. Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Renewals, refunds, and cancellations are handled by the relevant app store under its terms.
5. Intellectual property
As between you and SpeakFile, you own the text you submit and the audio output you generate, subject to the rights of the underlying voice and ambience providers. SpeakFile and its name, logo, and software are owned by us and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no rights in our branding.
6. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party voice synthesis and authentication providers. Your use of features powered by them may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated audio will meet your requirements.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpeakFile will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could cause harm or legal liability.
Enforcement may include blocking your account and blocking your email address, which ends access on the website and in the mobile apps and prevents that address from registering again. Blocked accounts keep no right to unused quota, and subscription refunds remain subject to the app store’s policies. If you believe a block was applied in error, contact support@speakfile.app and we will review it.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
11. Apple App Store (additional terms)
The following applies when you download or use the SpeakFile app from the Apple App Store. These Terms are concluded between you and SpeakFile only, and not with Apple; Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the app.
- In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your use of it, including product-liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer-protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
- Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, settling, or discharging any third-party claim that the app or your use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual-property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting,” and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce these Terms against you.
Your use of the app must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, including the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
